This is officially our 20th year of providing hatching kits to schools. We got our first birds in 1988, and we provided our first hatching 'kit' to a teacher friend of a friend in 1989. Although we have tried to keep the number of local kits at a fairly constant level, our connections on the web have been growing steadily since we went online in 2001.

If you've been here before you may have noticed we have a whole new look. We are using a CMS (content management system) so that hopefully it will be easier to keep things up to date. We also have a new look for the photo album. It isn't a true wiki because we are not allowing people to change the website, but we still welcome ideas, contributions, and anything else you care to share to help make this site more useful to you. In the mean time, enjoy!

As the shift of so many pages to the new format is bound to cause some problems - please let me know of any broken links, mistakes, or any other problems. Also, if there is something you especially want to see us provide, please let us know!

As I am working off the farm 5 days a week this year, my time is very limited so we won't be able to add much in the way of new content.

Sadly, we lost our wonderful duck guardian, Scanner the Great Pyrenees this past August. We will miss her dearly. We still have Arrow (also a Pyr) to keep our birds safe, and this year we added a new puppy who will likely be ready to work at Arrow's side by fall.

Meet Seya-Rubic. She is a Sarplaninac. It is a rare breed that originates from the areas now known as Serbia and Macedonia. Although we can no longer permit people inside the duck yards, if you ask, we will be happy to bring her out to meet you when you come to pick up your eggs.

I have moved my entire photo album to a separate part of the website. The pictures are all up, with many new ones, but the captions will take a little while to include, so please be patient.

All of the clipart, borders and backgrounds can now be found as part of the photo album; check under Resources.

We have over 400 new photos for 2009. This year we will have over 2,000 photos in the gallery.
